Top 10 Local Search Insights Of 2016

As 2016 draws to a close and we begin to seriously plan for next year’s goals and budgets, it’s wise to remember to take some time to reflect. Learning from successes and mistakes helps you set goals that will move you forward and plan ways to achieve them.

To help you remember some of the most important lessons learned this year, here is my Top 10 Insights of 2016. In full disclosure, this is my Top 10 list and is therefore largely derived from articles I have written this year and statistics cited there, but at least you’ll know you won’t find this list anywhere else! Here we go (in no particular order):

1. Sometimes the simple is better than the best

My most read article this year was “10 Ways to Simplify Your Local Search Marketing Strategy”. The space has become so cluttered with marketing products, platforms, and media that it Belarus WhatsApp Number List overwhelms even experts. Think about what this means for the SME. Most local business owners attempt to understand, select, and use marketing media and technology effectively.

Sometimes the best solution for an SME (small and medium-sized enterprise) is not what has the greatest return potential. Rather, it is perhaps the one they can most easily work with, manage their time and budget, and get a reasonable and secure return. Simplicity and clarity are valuable.

2. Speed kills (like totally kills man)

Speed is a highly valued commodity. Consumers want it and back it up when faced with slow sites. Google wants to make sure consumers are happy and stay on the web instead of heading to their competitors’ app platforms. Google has even made it a ranking factor for its mobile search algorithm. So it was a huge surprise to learn that mobile retail sites tended to be slower, with median load times from 4.33 seconds in 2013 to 4.8 seconds in 2014 to 5.5 seconds. in 2015.
