Recently, Google announced that it is removing the limit of three AdSense ad units on one page. This decision appears to have been largely driven by a “mobile first” strategy, as mobile sites do not have the same limitations as desktops in terms of space and user interaction. Scrolling isn’t as deterrent on mobile sites. This leaves more space for ads inside the “page”.
So, it’s time to celebrate! Let’s put more ads in the page and earn more money! This seems to be the dominant thought, but this mindset may be wrong. Not only does this go against the spirit of Google’s guidelines, but it’s also not a sustainable long-term strategy. In fact, more ads can often mean less money in the long run.

1. Death in numbers
It would seem logical that the more ads a webmaster puts on the site, the more money the site owners will earn. However, this is often not the case – at least not in the long term.
Although more ads make more Lithuania WhatsApp Number List money in the short term, they can cause the site to slow down on resource calls, uncompressed image downloads, and excessive scripting. All of this adds to the page weight of your site – and ultimately, downloading an ad-laden page could be like swimming in a pool of molasses. This is true even when advertisements like Google’s AdSense are loaded in the background.
The devil is in the details
In this example of a test from WebPageTest.org, we can see that this site has 509 resource calls, of which about 50% are related to advertising. This means that when downloading the page, the browser must retrieve more than 500 external elements. Each call means a trip to and from a server. This can significantly worsen page speed issues, regardless of how well the load stacks.
